Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate ~ My Beauty & Youth Elixir

Hey ladies,

This is the second product I purchased from Kiehl's.
My first experience with Kiehl's was beyond satisfaction. But, due to one or two reasons, I was still using my dermatologist's skin care products but had stopped using the serum since it was Oh-My-God so pricey! So my skin went a bit dry and dull, even my smile lines started to be flaky :( Then I looked for another product that's not only to brighten up my complexion but also moisturize my skin.. And this one was apparently raved about by a lot of beauty magazines.

I finally got this product from Lotte Shopping Avenue. It costs IDR 650k or +/- USD 50 for 30ml bottle. It comes in a dark blue glass bottle with black pipette cap. The pipette, however, is a bit different from the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution's. You have to push the top of the cap (like pushing a button) to suck up the liquid and spill it out. The pipette and button are, so far, quite easy and safe to use. The glass bottle is also pretty thick and hard, I suppose, since I've dropped it quite a few times but it hasn't been broken or cracked at all. Only the color is a bit too dark, so it's difficult to see if the product is running out.

The liquid is colorless and the texture is thin. Even though the packaging says it's fragrance free, but there's actually a natural fragrance from the flowers and other ingredients. The scent is faint, but it's a little stronger than the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution's (CCDSS) serum. If you have oily skin, you might not like this product as much as I do since this one has oily texture. The oil doesn't absorb as soon as you finish massaging your face. It stays until morning which keeps your skin moisturized all night long. In the morning I feel my skin supple and delicate. I also noticed the flake on some parts of my face has gone after the first usage.

This product, however, doesn't brighten up my complexion. If I only had budget to buy one serum, I would prefer the CCDSS serum to this elixir. The CCDSS serum can be used for day and night and has 2 core benefits: brightening and moisturizing. It may not be as moisturizing as this night elixir, but for my normal skin it gives me the right level of moisture I need. But this Midnight Elixir is best for those who have dry and very dry skin or during winter.

I give this Midnight Recovery Concentrate 4 out of 5 stars for its packaging and benefit. This product is worth the price I pay :)
Repurchase? Yes, if I live in subtropical country again :)
